RECAP: Broncos-Browns; Broncos Win 10th Straight

Denver BroncosPeyton Manning threw for 339 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Denver Broncos to a 34-12 win over the Cleveland Browns and the 10th win in a row. Knowshon Moreno ran for 78 yards on 22 carries, and Ronnie Hillman had 35 yards on only 6 carries. Demaryius Thomas also added 102 yards receiving, and Decker caught 2 TD’s. The Denver offense was clicking on all cylinders today as Denver had 457 yards of total offense on the day. But the Denver offense wasn’t the only side of the ball that was having a day to remember.

The Denver defense smothered Cleveland quarterbacks all day long. And yes, the word quarterback is plural because one of Von Miller’s two sacks on the day knocked Cleveland starting quarterback Brandon Weeden out of the game. Von Miller wasn’t the only one to get to the quarterbacks though, as Woodyard (1.5), Wolfe (1), and Dumervil (2) also had sacks of their own for a total of 6 sacks for the Broncos Defense.

The Cleveland Browns never seemed to be in this game. Even though the Browns averaged 5.1 yards per run on 18 carries, the Broncos held the Browns to only 233 yards of total offense on the day. The Browns didn’t even get into the end zone until the final 8 minutes of the game.

The Broncos improve to 12-3 on the season, and there’s even better news. A few minutes after their own game started, the Broncos were informed that the Houston Texans lost to the Minnesota Vikings 23-6 which leaves the Broncos in prime position to possibly take the No.1 overall seed in the AFC at season’s end.

If the Broncos win next week against the Chiefs, along with a Texans loss in Indianapolis to the Colts, the Broncos can claim their prize of home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The fairy-tale season for the Denver Broncos continues. And being at every home game this year, I can tell you that the fans are ready for the Broncos’ postseason run to begin.
